Wes is the Founder and Principal of DXD Consulting Inc.. Holding a Master’s Degree in Environmental Design and Bachelors’ degrees in Commerce and Science, he has over 20 years of experience providing ESG advisory services to private and public sector clients around the world.
Wes' expertise lies in the identification, quantification, management and financial treatment of environmental, social and economic risks and benefits associated with hydrocarbon, infrastructure and mining projects. He has led decision analyses, due diligence engagements, socio-economic studies and development projects in North and South America, Australia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Over the years Wes has worked extensively at the nexus of industry, government (including First Nations), and community to bring solutions to complex problems. Often times, this has required the creation and use of innovative systems and tools to derive transparent, implementable solutions across the asset life cycle.
Since founding DXD, Wes has focused his efforts on ESG management using leading practices in decision quality and risk management. This has led to numerous engagements ranging from carbon strategies and ESG reporting to leading edge methane management research to developing and deploying innovative liability management strategies.
Kevan has over 28 years of experience in a variety of areas ranging from liability management, contaminated site assessment, remediation, environmental assessment, policy development, risk assessment and reclamation. He holds a Masters of Science degree from Royal Roads University and a B.Sc. from Simon Fraser University. He has been an environmental consultant, environmental manager of an airport, Base Environmental Officer at the former Canadian Forces Base Calgary and Manager of Environmental Assessment and Liabilities at the City of Calgary. With the Alberta Energy Regulator his duties included liability estimation and end of life management of aging infrastructure - wells, facilities and pipelines and the associated sites. In addition, he led the Mine Financial Security Program to evaluate liability for oil sands and coal mines based upon asset retirement obligations and program requirements. Currently, he is working with DXD on projects focusing liability management across Western Canada.
Based on his 15 years of environmental consulting experience and 10 years as an environmental advisor for the oil and gas sector, Marc provides both industry and consulting perspectives to projects and regulatory issues. He holds two M.Sc. degrees in Geology and Hydrogeology and has worked primarily in Western Canada, with a total of 2 years in England and the U.S. Marc was the Chair of the CAPP Water Task group for 2 years, participated with the PTAC WIPC and was a member of two WPAC Committees.
Marc has a strong background in geochemistry and contaminant hydrogeology, extensive practical experience in classical geology, liability assessments and organic/inorganic contaminated site evaluations. As an environmental advisor at a large oil and gas company, he participated in stakeholder and regulatory engagement, development hearing preparations and as a panel member, environmental auditing and directing research projects for MMV aspects of a CO2 flood EOR program. Marc has managed numerous projects in Canada, the United Kingdom, and California, typically for groundwater assessments, liability assessments, property transactions and potential litigation cases.
